Mumbai – Mangoes from East African country Malawi have arrived in the APMC (Agricultural Produce Market Committee) fruit market of Navi Mumbai. So true mango lovers can enjoy the taste of mango in the cold of winter by spending more money.
The price of a box of Malawi mango in APMC ranges between three to five thousand rupees. Malawi mangoes arrive in the first week of November. However, this time the mangoes arrived with some delay on Wednesday.
945 boxes of Malawi Afus and 270 boxes of Topi Atkins mangoes have arrived. Usually a box contains 10 to 12 mangoes depending on the weight. The price of a three kg box is three to five thousand. Malawi mangoes are sent from APMC market to Crawford Market, Breach Candy, Ghatkopar, Juhu, Delhi, Rajkot and Ahmedabad.
Farmers from Malawi took mango saplings from Konkan to Malawi 13 years ago and started growing mangoes there. As the land, air and water there became more and more common. Now every November Afus mangoes from Malawi are coming to Mumbai.
