Mumbai: The woman who had made a threatening phone call to the Mumbai Police control room that a conspiracy was hatched to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi and weapons were ready, has been picked up. Preliminary investigation has revealed that his mental condition is not good. A police officer said on Thursday.
A call came from a woman in the main police control room of Mumbai. He threatened and said that a conspiracy has been hatched to kill Modi. He claimed that the weapons were ready.
After this threat the police became alert. The last location of the caller’s mobile phone was shown to be Andheri. Therefore the incident was reported to Amboli police station. The police team swung into action to trace the caller. But the caller’s phone was switched off.
He said, “We tried to find the woman on the basis of technical investigation. She switched on her mobile phone and was caught from Kandivali area. We have come to know that he called because he was upset with the administrative system. He does not belong to any group. He has no previous criminal record, a police officer said.
A mobile phone has been recovered from the woman. The woman has studied till 12th. It is said that she is unmarried and lives alone. His younger sister lives nearby.
Even before this, he had called the police control room to seek help on a small issue. Police said that she seemed mentally disturbed.
Police have registered a case against the woman for making threatening calls and spreading rumours. The police have given them notice. The woman is being interrogated. It is noteworthy that Mumbai Police has already received many threatening calls. But most of the threats have proved to be rumours.
