Vehicles plying on Delhi roads will now have to put a sticker on their vehicle to identify the type of fuel. For this, a notice has been issued by the Transport Department. ,
Officials said that now it will be mandatory for vehicle owners in Delhi to install chromium based hologram stickers. The sticker will help identify the fuel type of the vehicle during inspection. This rule will be applicable to both new vehicles purchased from April 1, 2019 and old vehicles registered before March 31, 2019. The sticker has to be pasted on the windscreen of the vehicle. Owners of old vehicles will have to contact their respective vehicle dealers to get the stickers installed.
Apart from this, the facility of online booking for installation of fuel based color coded stickers as well as High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) at home has been made available through the website of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) or the portal of Transport Department. Action will be taken against vehicles which do not have stickers. Information like registration number, laser branded PIN and engine and chassis number of the vehicles will be recorded on the sticker.
