Life Certificate: The Government of India has made the process of submitting life certificate even easier for pensioners. This scheme was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 10 November 2014. Under this, retired employees have to submit life certificate every year so that their pension can continue. Now to ease this process, the facility of digital life certificate has been started.
EPFO explained the process of submitting digital life certificate
Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has shared the entire process of submitting digital life certificate on social media. According to this, you should have a mobile phone with 5 megapixel front camera and internet facility. Along with this, your Aadhaar number should be registered.

- First of all download Jeevan Praman Face App and Aadhar Face RD Application from Google Play Store.
- Then, scan your face with these applications and fill all the required information.
- Take a photo with your front camera and submit all the information.
- After this process, your life certificate will be submitted without going to any bank or post office.
Increasing use of digital life certificate
According to government figures, there are about 78 lakh pensioners in the country. Of these, more than 6.6 lakh people have submitted Digital Life Certificate in the financial year 2023-24. Last year i.e. in 2022-23, 2.1 lakh people used this digital method, which has now increased by more than 200 percent year on year. If you do not want to adopt the digital method, then you can also submit the life certificate at the Common Service Center or government office.
