New Delhi, November 28 (HS). Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijendra Gupta has held the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government responsible for the shaky financial condition of the Delhi government. Expressing his reaction on Delhi Chief Minister Atishi taking a loan of Rs 10 thousand crore from the Central Government, Vijender Gupta said that due to the irresponsible attitude of the government and announcement of freebies without thinking, the Delhi government has become bankrupt. Vijendra Gupta has decided to raise his voice against the government’s decisions in the assembly session starting from November 29.

Addressing a press conference organized at the Delhi State BJP office, he said that in the last 10 years, the AAP government had spent crores of rupees on such schemes from which the people of Delhi could not get even one percent benefit. This is the first time that the state of Delhi, which has always been an example for other states for surplus revenue, is today facing revenue deficit. He cautioned Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and said that it will take 15 years to repay the loan of Rs 10,000 crore which the Delhi government is taking today to meet its basic needs. In these 15 years, the interest on this loan will exceed Rs 40 thousand crores. Overall, the people of Delhi will have to bear the burden of liability of Rs 50 thousand crore for the next 15 years. The coming governments will also be forced to bear the brunt of these mistakes of the Aam Aadmi Party.

The Leader of Opposition has demanded from the Delhi Government to provide immediate financial assistance to all the workers rendered unemployed due to the ban on construction works in view of pollution in Delhi. In this regard, writing a letter to Chief Minister Atishi, the Leader of Opposition said that the number of workers who support their families by doing daily wages at various construction sites in Delhi is about 20 lakh. Due to lack of information, most of these workers have not registered themselves with the Labor Welfare Board of Delhi Government, due to which they are not able to get the financial assistance given by the Delhi Government. Due to severe economic crisis, it has become difficult for their families to survive.

Gupta has demanded to provide immediate financial assistance to unregistered workers like registered workers.

He said that CAG reports are an important document to assess the financial and administrative conditions in a democratic system and as per constitutional rules, it is necessary to present them in the Assembly with the permission of the Lieutenant Governor. But the Delhi government is deliberately not presenting these in the House to hide its acts of corruption.

Vijendra Gupta expressed concern over the pressure being put by AAP leaders on Delhi Election Commission officials to include lakhs of Rohingyas living in Delhi in the voter list and said that first the Delhi government had issued voter cards to these lakhs of Rohingyas. And now creating pressure to include them in the voter list is a big threat to Delhi. Criticizing this step of Delhi government, he said that we will not let Delhi become Bangladesh at any cost.

The Leader of Opposition said that we are going to express our protest on the issue of various failures and bankruptcy of the Aam Aadmi Party in the last and winter session of the Delhi Assembly starting from tomorrow and will demand answers from the Aam Aadmi Party government on all these issues. Will force him.
