Dehri on Son, 28 November (HS). Dehri Nagar police station of Rohtas district arrested two criminals who cheated about Rs 55 lakh from 80 people in the name of getting a vehicle and sent them to jail on Thursday.
According to SDPO ASP Kota Kiran Kumar, Charanjit Singh, a resident of Neel Kothi in Dehri Nagar police station area, demanded Rs 1 lakh 1 thousand from a person named Pawan Kumar for the treatment of his brother in the hospital. Posing as a man from the police department, he became friends with businessman Charanjit. He started threatening to kill him if he asked for more money. In this regard, the accused, Pawan Kumar, son of Deendayal Kashyap, resident of Sherganj of Sasaram Nagar police station and joined the gang on his behest. Ajay Paswan, resident of Dhus of Nasriganj police station area, was arrested. Coincidentally, Ajay was arrested in another case a few hours ago.
He told that both the accused posed themselves as police officers and at other times as press reporters and became close to the people and in the name of getting vehicles, they defrauded 70-80 people from Dehri, Sasaram Nowhatta, Bikramganj, Aurangabad Mohania, Bhabhua and Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh. Had defrauded about Rs 55 lakh. He told that Pawan Kumar has been booked for forgery in Sasaram Nagar and Bhagwanpur police station of Kaimur district. There is an FIR. An FIR has been lodged against Ajay Paswan in Dehri Nagar police station on 26th November. The criminal history of both is being ascertained. He told that four mobile phones have also been seized from him.
The police are investigating the matter thoroughly.
Both of them used to deceive people by showing photos of them with senior police officers on their mobiles and pretending to be close to them. They used to cheat people in the name of getting Scorpios, bikes and other vehicles seized in Awakari and other cases in auction at cheap rates.
