Prayagraj, 27 November (HS). Prayagraj Kumbh Mela Authority’s decision to take the land of Prayag Adventure Sports in Arail Cachar without adjudication and without giving compensation for organizing the fair has been challenged in the Allahabad High Court. The court has sought reply from Kumbh Mela authority and other parties including the state government on this matter.
The division bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta and Justice Anish Kumar Gupta heard the petition filed by an organization named Prayag Adventure Tourism.
The petitioner’s advocate says that the organization has taken land in Arail Cachar for adventure sports including motor flying, hot air balloon riding, scooter vote speed riding, dumpy riding. This land has been taken by the fair authority without temporary acquisition and without compensation determination.
The Kumbh Mela officer rejected the petitioner’s representation saying that the said area is a settlement area where land will be allotted for the residence of Sadhus and Akhara. The petitioner’s construction was demolished on 12 November. The court has sought reply on the petition. The case will be heard in January.
