Death of student: An 11-year-old boy from Hyderabad died of suffocation during lunch in school on Monday. According to reports, he tried to eat multiple puris at once, which led to the unfortunate incident. The school staff took him to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment, however he was referred to a private super-speciality hospital for further treatment, where doctors declared him brought dead.
In the complaint lodged with the police, the boy’s father said that the school informed him that his son was having trouble breathing after eating more than three puris at one go. This tragic incident has increased the concern about food safety among children.
