Today is a special day for Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M). Today we got a glimpse of M&M’s first EV SUVs. The company will unveil two new SUVs simultaneously in Chennai today. Elaborating on this double EV blast of M&M, Trupti Kapuria of CNBC-Bazaar in Chennai said that today the company will unveil 2 new SUVs together in the double EV blast of M&M. These include XEV 9e and BE 6e. Talking about the specialty of M&M’s EVs, they are built on INGLO architecture. It has 250 global partners.
Both vehicles feature Volkswagen electric technology. It has features like a luxury SUV. These vehicles come with 59kwh and 79kwh battery packs and can deliver a range of 450-500 km on a single charge.
M&M’s BE 6e will compete with Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Maruti e-Vitara and Hyundai Creta EV. M&M’s XEV 9e will compete with the Tata Harrier EV. Talking about another mega launch in the EV space, Hyundai Creta EV will be launched in January 2025. Maruti e-Vitara will be launched only in 2025.
In EV, M&M may face the toughest competition from Tata Motors. If compared based on the trend of passenger vehicle sales in 2024, Mahindra sold 41623 passenger vehicles in July. At the same time, Tata sold 44727 passenger vehicles during this period. Mahindra sold 43,277 passenger vehicles in August. At the same time, Tata sold 44142 passenger vehicles during this period. Mahindra sold 51062 passenger vehicles in September. At the same time, Tata sold 41065 passenger vehicles during this period. Mahindra sold 54,054 passenger vehicles in October. At the same time, Tata sold 48423 passenger vehicles during this period.
