Ahmedabad: The law and order situation is worsening in entire Gujarat including Ahmedabad. Criminals have no fear of police, they are committing crimes like robbery, assault, theft, murder, assault, rape etc. Apart from this, 31st December is coming near and liquor smuggling is also taking place, in such a situation, Ahmedabad Police took action last night and conducted a combing campaign. In which more than 470 drunkards were arrested. Those who were being taken for treatment, there was a queue of drug addicts in Sola and Asarwa Civil.
In fact, to maintain the law and order situation in Ahmedabad, on the orders of the Police Commissioner in-charge, a combing night drive was conducted from 11 pm on 25th November to 5 am on 26th November i.e. for 6 hours. For this, policemen were checking with breath analyzer and other equipment at various places in the city.
During these 6 hours, police personnel checked a total of 21,223 vehicles. During this period, more than 470 people were caught under the influence of alcohol and crimes were registered against them under the Prohibition Act. Whereas according to Motor Vehicles Act 152, G.P. A case was registered against 199 under the Act. While 1685 people were caught with memos. Also, a fine of Rs 12,82,200 was collected in a single night. When more than 1700 vehicles were detained and further action was taken.
