ITBP jawan, who had come to conduct assembly elections in Dhanbad, committed suicide by shooting himself.

Dhanbad, 26 November (Hindustan Reporter). An ITBP jawan, who had come to Dhanbad from Sikkim with the battalion to conduct the assembly elections, has committed suicide by shooting himself in the camp built in the BBM College campus in Balliapur. The deceased soldier has been identified as Sandeep Kumar Singh (29), resident of Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand.

Regarding the incident, it is being told that at around 8 am on Tuesday, the temporary camp built in the BBM College campus was echoed by gunshots. The sound of the bullet came from the room of Sandeep Kumar Singh located in the camp. It is said that Sandeep was alone in the room at that time. On hearing the sound of the bullet, other soldiers of the battalion living there reached the room and found Sandeep lying on the ground soaked in blood. Fellow soldiers immediately took him to Balliapur Community Health Center, where seeing his critical condition, the doctors sent him to SNMMCH, Dhanbad. He died on the way to SNMMCH.

Confirming the incident, Dhanbad City SP Ajit Kumar said that ITBP jawan Sandeep Kumar Singh, who had come to Dhanbad for election work, shot himself with his service rifle, due to which he died. At present, further action is being taken.
