Yamunanagar, 26 November (Hindustan Reporter). Workers and employees of Bharatiya Kisan Union (Tikait), United Kisan Morcha, Central Trade Union, Sarv Karmachari Sangh, Retired Employees Union CITU, AITUC and Farm Labor Union in Yamunanagar on completion of four years of farmers’ movement march to Delhi and nationwide labor strike. They gathered at Kanhaiya Sahib Chowk and demonstrated till the Mini Secretariat and submitted a memorandum regarding their demands to the President of India through the Sub Divisional Officer.

Addressing the protest organized on Tuesday, farmer leader Dharampal Chauhan said that instead of fulfilling the promises made to the farmers, laborers, youth and women by the central and state governments, they are increasing the policies that enrich the corporates Ambani, Adani and other super rich. But taxes and loans of more than Rs 16.5 lakh crore of corporate houses have been waived off. He said that our demand is that farmers and laborers should be made debt free by implementing MSP C2 + 50 percent with legally guaranteed procurement for all crops, the National Monetization Pipeline should be cancelled, free electricity for agricultural pumps, domestic users and shops. Got 300 units of free electricity.

End indiscriminate land acquisition laws, ensure monthly pension of Rs 10,000 at the age of 60 to all people (those not covered under any scheme) and stop filing cases against farmers who burn stubble, etc. Speaking, farmer leaders said that agricultural land is being forcibly acquired in the name of industrialization. Whereas in reality it is with the government for entertainment facilities, commercial use, tourism, real estate etc. for the very rich. Warning Day was observed in Yamunanagar by farmers, rural poor and laborers in districts across India on November 26 to mark the important occasion of the nationwide general strike of workers and the fourth anniversary of the great struggle against the three black farm laws.
