Thousands of supporters again took to the streets for Imran Khan in Pakistan, police ordered to shoot on sight

Opposition to Imran Khan: In April 2022, the former Imran Khan government of Pakistan fell and a no-confidence motion was filed against him. After losing the post of Prime Minister, hundreds of cases were registered against him. He is currently lodged in Adiala Jail of Rawalwindi. Imran’s supporters have stormed the capital Islamabad demanding his release.

4 rangers and 2 policemen were killed in the attack

Imran supporters attacked security personnel on Srinagar Highway. In which 4 rangers and 2 policemen have died. Also, more than 100 policemen have been injured in this incident, most of which are in critical condition. Besides, a civilian has also died in this incident.

Order was given to shoot at sight

The police have set up a heavy blockade to stop the people of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party. Officials say that the Pakistani Army has been deployed under Article 245 to prevent unrest and terrorist activities. Sources have also said that people involved in such activities have been ordered to be shot on site i.e. at sight.

Hundreds of party workers and leaders are missing

According to media reports, Zulfi Bukhari, spokesperson of Imran Khan’s political movement, has given a statement that, ‘One protester died and 20 others were injured in the clash with the authorities.’

PTI leaders have claimed that 490 supporters and leaders of their party have been arrested in Punjab province. Hundreds of party workers and leaders are also missing.
