Maharashtra CM: Four years ago in 2019, there was a dispute over the Chief Minister’s seat in Maharashtra and the two major parties of the state, BJP and Shiv Sena, separated from each other. Uddhav Thackeray’s party said that Amit Shah had promised that if he got power, he would be made the chief ministers of both the parties for two and a half years. However, BJP rejected this claim outright and said that no such promise was made and naturally the party with more seats should get power. The conflict on this issue increased so much that Uddhav Thackeray broke ties with BJP and formed the government with Congress and NCP. After this he remained the Chief Minister for about two and a half years. However, after four years, such conflict is being seen once again between Shiv Sena and BJP. But now there is a split in Shiv Sena and instead of Uddhav Thackeray, Eknath Shinde is reminding BJP of its promises.
Repeating previous things after five years?
Five years have passed since this election, Shiv Sena got divided into two parts, in which Shinde Sena separated from Uddhav Thackeray and formed a government in the name of Shiv Sena in alliance with BJP. After this, assembly elections were held again and the results also came out. This time Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has got 57 seats. However, BJP got 132 seats. Now once again the same controversy with these different characters is being seen in the politics of Maharashtra.
Shinde Sena asked
Eknath Shinde Sena wants the Chief Minister to be theirs. Party leader Eknath Shinde has again contested for the post of CM and is giving examples from Bihar to Haryana. Not only this, the language of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena has now become like that of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena in 2019. Four years ago, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut had said that BJP had promised to make him the Chief Minister for two and a half years. Now Shinde Sena, like Sanjay Raut, is reminding BJP of its promise and alliance dharma.
The Chief Minister’s decision was taken before the elections
Eknath Shinde is also claiming that BJP had promised that if it gets power, the Chief Minister will be from Shiv Sena. Shinde Sena president says that these meetings were held after the crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections. It was decided in this meeting that if the government is formed, Eknath Shinde will be made the Chief Minister, without seeing who gets how many seats.
BJP denied the claim
Also, while replying to BJP, he said that the meeting was held in Mumbai in the presence of Amit Shah. It was said in this meeting that if Mahayuti gets majority then the decision of the Chief Minister will be taken by the leadership of BJP Parliamentary Board, NCP and Shiv Sena. Yes, the elections will be fought under the leadership of Eknath Shinde. However, the decision of the Chief Minister will be taken together after the elections. The BJP leader said that it was decided that the decision would be taken later, nothing was decided beforehand.
