The government and the opposition have come face to face regarding the Constitution Day program to be held in the Parliament on Tuesday. The opposition demands that opposition leaders be allowed to speak in both the houses during the Constitution Day celebrations. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has reacted against this.
He said that the Constitution Day program is above politics and is a festival of the country. He also gave information about the entire program. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that this is not just a celebration of the Indian Parliament. In a way, we are respecting the Indian Constitution and conveying its message to the people of the country. We are paying tribute to the makers of the Constitution. When the President addresses the members of both the Houses of Parliament, I believe there will be no party politics. We will celebrate Indian Constitution Day. This evening we will contact the President and invite him for tomorrow’s program.
Prime Minister will also not address the function: Rijiju
The Union Minister further said that the problem with some opposition forces is that they have started reacting without knowing about the system. The Prime Minister is also not going to address tomorrow’s function. Only the Lok Sabha Speaker, Vice President and Speaker will speak. We have made arrangements to sit on the stage for the opposition leaders of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Such a reaction without knowing anything on such a serious occasion is condemnable.
