New Delhi, 25 November (Hindustan Reporter). On the second day of the IPL 2025 auction process, a 13-year-old star named Vaibhav Suryavanshi suddenly came in front of everyone. Which was bought by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 1.10 crore. The base price of this player was Rs 30 lakh and he joined the Rajasthan team at almost four times more than his base price. With this he became the youngest player to be sold in the IPL auction history. Bihar’s Vaibhav had created history as the youngest player to be shortlisted for the IPL auction at the age of just 13 years and 242 days. Now he has also got a team.
Before making the record in the IPL auction, Vaibhav was also in the news in domestic cricket. This left-handed batsman has shown prowess with the bat at a very young age. Making his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024, Vaibhav Suryavanshi caught everyone’s attention by scoring a century in 58 balls in the India U19 vs Australia U19 Youth Test series in September. Vaibhav is also set to represent India in the upcoming Under-19 Asia Cup.
This Lal from Bihar had scored a century in 58 balls in the two-match unofficial test series played between the Under-19 teams of India and Australia. Who is just one place behind England batsman Moeen Ali. Ali scored a century in 56 balls in Under-19 in 2005. Also, Vaibhav has made the record of fastest century by an Indian in Under-19 Test. The young player hit 14 fours and four centuries during his strong innings. He was run out after scoring 104 runs on just 62 balls.
Vaibhav is the same batsman who made his debut in Ranji Trophy 2024 at the age of just 12 years and 284 days. He became the fourth youngest player to do so. He broke the records of many players including Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin became a big name in Ranji cricket at a very young age and also made a place in the Indian youth team.
