Many countries of the world are showing interest in India’s Pinaka rocket system. Amidst all this, its supply has started to Armenia, which had signed a deal with India for this system two years ago. Along with Pinaka rocket system, India is also supplying Akash air defense system to Armenia. According to defense sources, the first consignment of Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher has reached Armenia. Pinaka Rocket Launcher is a highly lethal weapon system based on India’s indigenous technology. Its rockets are capable of hitting ranges of more than 80 kilometers.
Not only Armenia but also countries in South-East Asia and Europe have shown interest in India’s Pinaka system. India’s DRDO has recently conducted successful tests on many more variants as well. India’s powerful rocket system has been developed by Nagpur-based Solar Industries Economic Explosil Ltd and state-owned India Ltd.
This is also an important reason behind naming the rocket system Pinaka. Actually, in Hindu scriptures, the name of Lord Shiva’s bow is Pinak. On that basis it has been named Pinaka. During the visit of India’s CDS Anil Chauhan to France, France had also expressed its interest in this rocket system of India. The Government of India is continuously showing interest in increasing the defense industry in India. India’s defense material exports have increased significantly in the last few years. The demand for India’s rocket system and India’s BrahMos missile has increased in many countries of the world.
