Officials of the Meteorological Center said that after the fresh snowfall a day earlier, the minimum temperature in the ski resort of Gulmarg was recorded at minus 2.4 degrees Celsius on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, while it was minus 1.5 degrees Celsius the previous night. . The minimum temperature in Pahalam was minus 2.3 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Srinagar was recorded at 4.0 degrees Celsius. The sky remained cloudy in Srinagar and its surrounding areas, keeping the weather cool, although a slight drop in the maximum temperature was observed on Sunday. At other places in Kashmir Valley also, the maximum temperature had dropped by 0 to 6 degrees Celsius on the previous day. The minimum temperature on Monday was recorded at 5.0 degrees Celsius in Qazigund, 1.2 degrees Celsius in Kupwara and 2.8 degrees Celsius in the picnic spot of Kokernag in south Kashmir, the weather department said.
The Meteorological Department said that the weather is likely to remain generally dry till the evening of November 30. Also, there is a possibility of another western disturbance on December 1, which may cause light rain and light snowfall in high altitude areas and isolated places. He said that after this the weather will remain generally dry till December 5.
