Hamirpur, 25 November (HS). The people of Daduhi Panchayat have submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur for not joining the Municipal Corporation. Hundreds of villagers, under the chairmanship of Panchayat head Usha Birla, on Monday submitted a letter to Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur Amarjit Singh asking him not to join the Municipal Corporation. People are blunt that they do not want to join the Municipal Corporation under any circumstances. Because poor people live in the Panchayat, who will not be able to pay the heavy taxes of the Municipal Corporation.
The villagers say that before including them in the Municipal Corporation, opinion should be taken from the Panchayat people and only then they should be included in the Municipal Corporation. The villagers, through the Deputy Commissioner Hamirpur, have demanded the state government to take a decision within two weeks that Daduhi Panchayat should be taken out of the Municipal Corporation as soon as possible. If Daduhi Panchayat is not taken out of the Municipal Corporation, then the people of the Panchayat will be forced to take to the streets. In such a situation, Daduhi Panchayat should be taken out of the Municipal Corporation as soon as possible. Because the village people want to live in the Panchayat, they should not be forcibly included in the Municipal Corporation.
On this occasion, Panchayat representatives included about seven dozen including Daljit Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Balveer Chand, Deep Kumar, Rajiv Kumar, Sita Ram, Manohar, Lal, Jai Chand, Jagdish Chand, Watan Singh, Amar Singh, Banku Ram. More villagers were present.
