Meeting chaired by DM regarding measures to prevent and protect against cold wave

Katihar, 25 November (HS). A meeting was organized in the NIC Auditorium on Monday to discuss measures for prevention and protection from cold wave. The meeting was presided over by District Magistrate Manesh Kumar Meena. It was informed by Additional Collector Apda that the winter period of the year 2024 has started. Generally, there is a possibility of cold wave due to prevalence of cold between December and January.

It was decided in the meeting that in order to protect the people affected by the cold wave, especially the poor and helpless people, mutual coordination will be established by the concerned officials to discuss appropriate measures and management as per the departmental SOP.

From time to time, the District Information and Public Relations Officer was directed to spread public awareness among the people through pamphlets, posters, newspapers, electronic media, hoardings and banners and through other news media.

The Civil Surgeon was ordered that as the cold increases, the chances of people suffering from viral infections, cold diarrhea and other cold-related diseases increases significantly. Minimizing loss of life and property and preventing cold wave related diseases is the top priority.
