In the mega auction of IPL 2025 going on in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, all the records of the auction were broken on the very first day. Rishabh Pant has now become the most expensive player in IPL history. Pant has been bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 27 crore. On the first day, 72 players were bought while 12 players remained unsold. In which a player has also won the IPL title for the team under his captaincy.

The surprise for the fans on the first day of the mega auction was that former Australian explosive batsman David Warner, who led Sunrisers Hyderabad to the title, remained unsold. No franchise has shown interest in this legendary player. The base price of David Warner was Rs 2 crore. Apart from this, England’s Jonny Bairstow also did not find any buyer in the mega auction. Team India’s left-handed batsman Devdutt Padikal, who went on Australia tour, also remained unsold in the mega auction this time.

Money rains on Shreyas and Venkatesh
