The mega auction of IPL 2025 is going on in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. Rishabh Pant broke all the records of IPL and got a huge amount of Rs 27 crores. Pant was bought by Lucknow Super Giants by bidding Rs 26.75 crore for Shreyas Iyer.

Team co-owner Kiran Kumar Grandhi, sitting in the camp of Delhi Capitals, defrauded the Punjab team in the name of two players in the mega auction. Kiran made a long bid with Punjab Kings to get Shreyas Iyer and backed out at the last moment, forcing Punjab to pay a huge sum for Iyer.

Mastermind of mega auction

As soon as Arshdeep Singh’s name came on the auction table, Kiran Kumar Grandhi, sitting in the camp of Delhi Capitals, started playing. Delhi started bidding for Arshdeep. Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants also showed interest in signing Arshdeep, but later both the teams gave up. Sunrisers Hyderabad also bid for Arshdeep. While bidding in the name of Arshdeep, Delhi reached beyond Rs 15 crores and the bidding in the name of Arshdeep reached Rs 18 crores. But Arshdeep rejoined the Punjab Kings team but they had to pay a huge amount for the Indian fast bowler.

After Arshdeep, Kiran Grandhi played the same match with Punjab Kings in the name of Shreyas Iyer. Kiran continuously bid for Shreyas and even crossed the amount of Rs 20 crores. The Punjab Kings team, which was searching for a captain, joined the bidding war with Delhi. Delhi bid Rs 25 crore in Iyer’s name and then withdrew its hands. This was the reason why Punjab had to pay Rs 26.75 crore to buy Iyer. Punjab Kings, who had brought the biggest purse in the mega auction, were badly defeated by the cleverness of Kiran Grandhi.

Delhi bought strong players

Kiran Grandhi has shown wisdom in choosing the team of Delhi Capitals so far. Delhi included KL Rahul in its team by spending Rs 14 crore in the mega auction. Along with this, Delhi also included Mitchell Starc, who was the most expensive player in the last auction, in its team for Rs 11.75 crore. Delhi also used the right-to-match card for Rishabh Pant, but Lucknow paid Rs. She backed out after bidding Rs 27 crore.
