UP bus accident: A bus full of passengers going from Varanasi to Delhi overturned after hitting a divider on Saturday night. 14 people have been injured in this accident. The injured people were immediately taken to the hospital, the condition of one of them is said to be critical.
This tragic accident happened on GT Road in Sandipanghat police station area of Muratganj town. Many passengers were taken out safely by conducting a rescue operation with the help of police crane. Meanwhile, there was a jam on GT Road for a long time.
Boarded the bus after the train was canceled
Subhash, a resident of Varanasi Cantt, told that he had to go to Delhi by train. But the train was cancelled. Then he took the bus ticket. Later, along with his wife and children, he boarded a semi-sleeper bus of Pratap Travels.
The bus was carrying passengers from various places including Tamil Nadu. When the bus reached Muratganj town at 11 pm, it collided with the divider on GT Road and fell on a rickshaw parked on the side of the road and overturned to the left. Hearing the screams of the people traveling in the rickshaw and the bus, a crowd of local people and passers-by gathered. Local people broke the glass and pulled out some passengers. However, many people got stuck in the bus itself.
Rescue operation conducted with the help of crane
As soon as the news of the accident was received, police from many police stations including DM, SP, CO reached there. Rescue operation was started with the help of crane. After this, all the people injured in the bus accident were immediately taken to the hospital.
The injured include 54-year-old Venkat Subbam, 65-year-old Samaiya, 60-year-old Kanaya, 44-year-old Srinivas from Andhra Pradesh, 28-year-old Seema Tiwari, 30, from Kondhiyara Prayagraj. – Elderly Shimla Devi of Sandipghat Kaushambi, Raju Patel, Ramesh Kumar Patel, Arjun, Deva of Varanasi, Ashok Kumar Lal. Police did rescue
A seriously injured person was not in a position to reveal his name and address. However, in the meantime the police sent the safe survivors to Delhi by another bus. Apart from this, a girl and a young man traveling in a rickshaw have also been rescued.
A total of 40 people from Varanasi and Prayagraj were traveling in the bus. The bus is said to be from Meerut. A team of doctors has been deployed to treat the injured. SP Brijesh Srivastava said that prima facie the bus overturned after hitting the divider. Many people traveling in it have been injured and are admitted to the hospital. The condition of one is serious. This bus is from Meerut. However, further investigation into the accident is ongoing.
