Chittorgarh, 21 November (HS). The largest container depot of Udaipur division will open in Shambhupura of the district. It will be in about 100 bighas of land. The work has started with marking the land in this regard. This container depot is very close to the railway line. In such a situation, freight will be saved over time by loading marble and other materials from other districts including Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara and sending them to the southern states. Traders will also benefit from this. With the introduction of the new facility, the income of Railways will also increase.
It is noteworthy that there is a big marble work in Rajsamand and Chittorgarh districts. From here, marble is shipped every day to every corner of the country and also abroad. Apart from this, other materials are also sent to South and other states. Currently material is shipped through containers. Near Chittorgarh, there are container depots at Khemli in Udaipur district and Kishangarh in Ajmer district. Material was being sent from Chittorgarh to Khemli and Kishangarh. Due to long distance, the need for a container depot was felt in Chittorgarh district. This need of the traders of the district is now going to be fulfilled. Container depot is about to open in Shambhupura in Chittorgarh district. This will be the largest container depot of Udaipur division near the railway line. Ahmedabad based company HJM Advisor Private Limited has started the work by signing a contract with the Railways for this. The land survey had already been done. A survey has been conducted by the company in Chittorgarh, Bhilwara and Rajsamand districts regarding which items from the region can be loaded in containers. Harish Mehta, Director of HJM Advisor Private Limited Company, said that the company has signed a contract with the Railways for the container depot. A container depot is being opened in about 100 bighas of land. In this, 30 bighas of land belongs to Railways. The work has been started by taking private land and entering into a contract. In such a situation, convenience for the traders of the area will increase. He told that the company has conducted a survey for this in three districts. It was revealed that mainly marble and then grains were being shipped to the southern states. Apart from this, other items including minerals can be sent. Due to the proximity of the railway line, the containers will be loaded into the train in less time.
The benefit will be like this, the distance will be reduced by 220 km.
The container depot at Shambhupura is very close to the railway line. At present, local traders send marble and other materials from Kishangarh Container Depot to the southern states. Now if the facility will be started in Shambhupura of Chittorgarh itself, then the cost of transportation till Kishangarh will be saved. Kishangarh is about 220 kilometers from Chittaurgarh. This is where local traders will benefit greatly and time will be saved. Train fare from Kishangarh to Chittorgarh will also be saved, this is because there is a railway line to go to the southern states via Chittorgarh only.
MoU worth Rs 25 crore in investment summit
Company director Harish Mehta said that the budget of Rs 100 crore will be invested in different pieces for opening the container depot. Recently, he also went to the Rising Rajasthan Investment Summit held in Chittorgarh. Here also an MoU of Rs 25 crore was signed. In this, necessary facilities will be provided from the state government.
Employment opportunities will increase in the area
Harish Mehta said that with the increase in Railways’ income from the container depot, traders will save on rent. Will be able to compete in marble prices compared to Kishangarh. The container depot will provide employment to local people. Machinery will be installed. There is also a plan to open a warehouse here in future.
