267 girls vaccinated in Rotary Club’s cervical cancer awareness campaign

Prayagraj, 21 November (HS). For the first time, a free camp for the comprehensive treatment of cervical cancer was organized under the joint aegis of Rotary Club and Dr. Preeti Hospital, Jhunsi. Under this, vaccination of 150 girls was done in Preeti Hospital and 117 girls were done in Ashutosh Memorial School.

After inaugurating the camp, Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani praised Rotary Club, Dr. Preeti Hospital and Ashutosh Memorial School for this campaign and said that such work related to public interest is our social responsibility. Everyone should come forward in works related to social service.

In the vaccination campaign that concluded on Thursday, 267 girls aged between 9 to 18 years were given free vaccination. Vaccination of the girls was done in the presence of Dr. Sangeeta Lodha, Maharashtra Rotary District. District Governor Paritosh Bajaj and Pankaj Jain were also present on this occasion.

Dr. Preeti Tripathi said that under this campaign, in the next phase, people who have symptoms of cervical cancer or women who are not aware that the symptoms they have are of cervical cancer, along with making them aware, For this, free HPV blood test will be done from 22nd to 30th November, the cost of this test is approximately Rs 1350. This test will be done free of cost by Pathkind Lab.

He further informed that in the next phase, from 1st to 7th December, Gynecologist and Obstetrician Dr. Preeti Tripathi will conduct a free colposcopy test for cervical cancer detection, the cost of this test is Rs 2000. After this, in the next phase, from December 8 to 15, with the joint efforts of AIIMS expert Dr. Rahul Gupta, oncologist and Dr. Preeti Tripathi, cryo surgery will be performed for the treatment of women who are found to have symptoms of cervical cancer.

Rotarian Dr. Amit Tripathi said that for the first time in Prayagraj, a complete drive for prevention, detection and treatment of cervical cancer is being started with the joint efforts of Rotary Prayagraj and Dr. Preeti Hospital. This is so serious because every month more than 75 lakh women are suffering from cervical cancer. India also leads the world in most cases of cervical cancer. Cervical cancer can be prevented by applying the vaccine between the ages of 9 to 18 years. Because this cancer takes the form of cancer after 20 years of exposure to HPV virus in the body. He told that under this campaign, Director of Ashutosh Memorial School, Dr. Girish Pandey has launched an awareness campaign by visiting many deprived class schools.
