Union Minister Mandaviya said that sportsmanship is more important than victory or defeat in sports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans that when India celebrates the centenary of its independence in 2047, the country should be among the top-5 countries in the world in the field of sports.
The Union Minister said that for this, under the Khelo India Project, players are being identified at the grassroots level and world class coaching is being given to them. Players are being given opportunities to get national and international exposure. Mandaviya said that arrangements are being made to provide good training to Indian players by bringing good coaches from the world. The way sports has changed.
Earlier, Sports Minister Mandaviya prayed for the progress of the country by offering prayers at the world famous Vishnupad temple of Gaya, the land of knowledge and salvation. Along with him, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary also visited Vishnupad temple.
Indian team’s journey in the competition:
In the first semi-final of the Women’s Asian Hockey Championship held at the International Hockey Stadium in Rajgir, Bihar, China defeated Malaysia 3-1 and entered the final. In the second semi-final, India defeated Japan and entered the final. India remained unbeaten and won all the matches in the league competition. In the league competition, India defeated Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and China.
