Four EVMs were vandalized in Beed district and polling station head beaten up, accused absconding.

Mumbai, 20 November (HS). After vandalizing four EVM machines in Parli assembly constituency of Beed district of the state on Wednesday afternoon, unknown accused beat up the polling booth head. After this all the accused absconded. As soon as information about this incident was received, Superintendent of Police Chormale immediately reached the spot and registered a case and ordered investigation.

According to the police, voting started from this morning in Parli Vaijnath assembly constituency of Beed district. Many youths forcibly entered the booths of Someshwar Vidyalaya and Zilla Parishad School in Ghatnandur of Parli. These youth broke four machines at booth number 280, 281, 283 of Someshwar Vidyalaya and booth number 282 of Zilla Parishad School. On protesting against this, the polling station chief Munde was also beaten up. After this all the accused absconded. After this incident, polling booth chief Munde was immediately admitted to Swami Ramanand Teerth Government Hospital in Ambejogai for treatment. After this incident, these four EVMs were immediately replaced and after this the voting could proceed smoothly. Superintendent of Police Chormale has said that strict criminal action will be taken against the accused.
