Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra tomorrow on Wednesday. A day before this, a former IPS officer from Pune has made a big allegation against NCP (SP) leader and Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule and Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole. The former IPS alleges that both the leaders embezzled Bitcoin in 2018 and that money is being used in the current assembly elections.

Supriya Sule’s letter to EC

Supriya Sule has written a letter to the Election Commission against these allegations. On behalf of Supriya Sule, her lawyer said in the letter that a cyber fraud complaint should be immediately filed against Pune-based former IPS officers Ravindranath Patil and Gaurav Mehta, who spread false information against Supriya Sule.

The lawyer wrote in the letter, ‘They are alleging that Bitcoin is being misused by Nana Patole and Supriya Sule for the purpose of distributing funds in the assembly elections. He also tried to use Supriya Sule’s fake voice to strengthen the allegations.

Accusation of tarnishing the image

The letter reads, ‘It is a serious crime to commit fraud and defamation using digital media. These allegations are not only completely false, but are being made in a malicious attempt to malign and tarnish the image and reputation of Supriya Sule.

FIR should be lodged immediately

He said, ‘It is surprising that such allegations are being made a night before the voting day in Maharashtra Assembly elections, which proves the intention behind these false allegations. We demand that an FIR be immediately registered under relevant provisions of law and a thorough investigation be conducted against such persons.
