After the arrest of a Chinese national in Delhi, Rs. 100 crore scam exposed

New Delhi: Delhi Police has arrested a Chinese national for his involvement in a cyber fraud worth Rs 43 lakh in Shahdara, officials said in a statement.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam said in a statement that the arrest of a Chinese national has also exposed an online stock trading scam of over Rs 100 crore carried out through social media.

He said the accused has been identified as Feng Chenjin, a Chinese national living in Safdarganj.

Giving more details of the investigation, Gautam said that a complaint was lodged on the cyber crime portal in July. According to the complaint, the accused had organized a stock market training session to commit fraud.

After this the accused committed fraud of Rs 43.5 lakh in the name of investment through various transactions. This investment amount was transferred to the accounts linked to the accused.

During the investigation, the police got information about the accounts to which the embezzled amount was transferred.

According to the police, earlier Andhra Pradesh Police had arrested Feng. The company in which this person was working as a vendor filed a case of fraud. He remained in Tirupati jail in Andhra Pradesh for seven months. Andhra Pradesh Police has confiscated the passport and visa of the accused. When he was arrested by Delhi Police he did not have a valid visa.
