Ranchi, 19 November (HS). Principal Secretary of Health Department, Ajay Kumar Singh has said that better work is being done in the field of health in the state, the positive results of which are being seen. The maternal mortality rate in the state is 56 while the national average is 97. Jharkhand’s infant mortality rate is 25 while the national average is 27. The state’s performance is better than the national average, which is showing positive results of the work being done.
The Principal Secretary was reviewing the work being done across the state under the National Health Mission at the RCH Auditorium in Namkum on Tuesday. Campaign Director of National Health Mission, Jharkhand, Abu Imran told the Principal Secretary that T.B. Better work is being done towards eradication. I.C.M.R. As per the instructions of BCG, 1 lakh 82 thousand 156 eligible beneficiaries have been vaccinated with adult BCG in 12 selected districts of the state. By running a campaign at the village level, 52,666 new TB patients have been discovered, who are being properly treated. The target is to eradicate TB by the year 2025, to achieve which extensive publicity campaigns are being run. With the help of 3035 Nikshaya Mitras, food baskets have been provided to 56,657 TB patients.
The Principal Secretary directed to assign separate responsibilities to the Nodal and Coordinator for Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PMABHIM) and 15th Finance, so that the program can be successfully conducted. Also said that the employees of National Health Mission, Jharkhand are on contract, but they are the backbone of the health department. It needs to be strengthened further.
He also directed to prepare HR policy soon. Keeping in mind the interest of the employees, they agreed to send a statement to the Health Ministry of the Government of India for providing PF facility, to build a dispensary in the RCH premises and to make other arrangements for the accommodation of the employees. Before this, Campaign Director Abu Imran welcomed the Principal Secretary by giving him a sapling.
The Principal Secretary directed to start the process for recruitment to the vacant posts in the National Health Mission, Jharkhand following the Model Code of Conduct implemented in the state. He said that instead of any examination agency, recruitment boards should be formed and the departments themselves should make appointments on merit basis. He also directed to put the rules of appointment in the HR policy.
