Delhi air pollution: North India including Delhi is facing the brunt of pollution. The situation in Delhi-NCR is very serious. In such a situation, Delhi’s Environment Minister Gopal Rai has written a letter to the Central Government for artificial rain. He wrote in the letter, ‘Pollution in Delhi is in a very serious category and artificial rain is necessary to deal with it.’
Demand for intervention from PM Modi
Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai has sought intervention from Prime Minister Modi regarding artificial rain. Apart from this, he has targeted Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav. He says that pollution is being politicized in Delhi. The central government is not holding a meeting on cloud seeding. There is a debate on odd even. The Center should hold a meeting on this soon. The appeal of Delhi government was ignored.
Gopal Rai said, ‘I have written four letters to the Union Environment Minister. Four letters were written in August, September, October and 19 November, but still the Union Environment Minister did not call a single meeting on artificial rainfall. We have to remove the blanket of smog in Delhi.
Air pollution reaches dangerous level in Delhi
Air pollution in Delhi is increasing day by day. Delhi-NCR is immersed in fog for the last two days. On Tuesday (19 November), the second day of this season, pollution is at a dangerous level. AQI 495 was recorded this morning. Meanwhile, in view of the increasing air pollution, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in Delhi-NCR has implemented GRAP-4 from Monday.
It is noteworthy that the country’s capital Delhi is turning into a gas chamber due to air pollution. The situation is so bad that it is having a serious impact on people’s health. People are having trouble breathing. Doctors say that due to increase in pollution the number of people suffering from cough has increased and cases of eye irritation are also increasing.
