Panic selling by players, retail investors in small cap, mid cap stocks: 2486 shares closed negative
Many stocks opened fresh gap up today as retail investors, players continued panic selling in small, mid cap stocks. Out of total 4224 stocks traded on BSE, the number of declining stocks was 2486 and the number of gaining stocks was 1611.
Net sales in cash by FPIs/FIIs Rs 1403 crore: Net purchases by DIIs Rs 2330 crore
Foreign portfolio investors – FPIs, FIIs made a net sale of shares worth Rs 1403.40 crore in cash today on Monday. There were sales of Rs 15,659.69 crore against total purchases of Rs 14,256.29 crore. Whereas DII-Domestic Institutional Investors made net purchases of Rs 2330.56 crore in cash today. There were sales of Rs 9190.86 crore against total purchases of Rs 11,521.42 crore.
The asset-market capitalization of investors in stocks fell by Rs 1.52 lakh crore to Rs 429.08 lakh crore.
