PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Champions Trophy 2025: Regarding the Champions Trophy 2025 to be held in Pakistan in the near future, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that the Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan as per the plan. He emphasized that if India has any objection then it can find a solution by talking to the PCB.
We will not accept hybrid models
Addressing the media outside Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, Naqvi said, ‘Pakistan’s pride and honor is our priority. Champions Trophy will be held in our country. We will not accept hybrid models. If India has any problem then it can talk to us and we will solve it. We stand by our word. We are waiting for the ICC to announce the schedule as soon as possible.
Sports and politics should not interfere with each other.
Naqvi requested ICC that, ‘ICC needs to take care of its credibility. Because it represents cricket organizations of all countries globally. The program has been redesigned. But we have not received any information about cancellation of the program. I still believe that sports and politics should not interfere with each other.
Indian team will not go to Pakistan
Here let us tell you that Pakistan has been made the host for the Champions Trophy 2025. Recently BCCI made it clear that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan to participate in the Champions Trophy. The board had asked not to go to Pakistan citing security. After this, Pakistan’s hosting started being under threat. And the board demanded a hybrid model for the Indian team to play in the Champions Trophy.
Can tournaments be held in other countries?
Under this, the Indian team will play its match in some other country instead of Pakistan. While other teams will play their matches in Pakistan. It was also discussed that if Pakistan did not host the Champions Trophy, South Africa could host the tournament. However, after Mohsin Naqvi’s statement, it has been confirmed that Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy.
