Jalandhar , On Monday afternoon, an overloaded truck hit the Ertiga car going ahead near Pathankot Chowk on the Amritsar-Ludhiana Highway. Two women and a child died and four people were injured in the accident. The collision was so strong that the car broke the iron pole on the footpath and went onto another road. The overloaded truck went out of control and overturned on the middle of the road and after the accident, the truck driver fled from the spot. Seven people traveling in the damaged car got stuck in the middle, the police called a welder and got the car cut and with the help of passersby took the car to the nearest hospital. Where the doctors declared all three dead. On reaching the hospital, they came to know that their Son Piyush, wife Palak and aunt Jyoti are no more in this world. Police station 8 in-charge Gurmukh Singh said that his team’s investigating officer ASI Nirmal Singh has taken possession of the truck and car. The truck driver is absconding and the victim’s family is not in a position to give a statement. His team is busy investigating the matter. They have taken possession of the bodies and sent them to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem and the truck driver will be arrested soon.
