Kolkata, 18 November (HS). Bengal BJP President and Union Minister Dr. Sukant Majumdar has taken a sharp jibe at the growing controversies within the Trinamool Congress. The statement came after pictures of Abhishek Banerjee and Trinankur Bhattacharya sharing the stage together and the video of Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee’s speech went viral on social media.
Sukant Majumdar wrote on social media platform X on Monday, “The discord in Trinamool Congress has now reached its peak. The internal fight of the party is coming to the surface every day. Trinamool’s Lok Sabha Chief Whip Kalyan Banerjee is now openly challenging the leaders of Abhishek Banerjee’s group. From Parliament to local forums, rebel Trinamool MPs are now actively criticizing. “This has become an amusing situation for the party led by Mamata Banerjee.”
Kalyan Banerjee had recently indirectly targeted Trinankur Bhattacharya, a leader close to Abhishek Banerjee, on a platform and said that it is everyone’s responsibility to maintain discipline in the party. On the other hand, this increasing conflict between Abhishek faction and Kalyan faction has heated up the internal politics of Trinamool.
BJP state president Sukant Majumdar has also questioned Mamata Banerjee’s silence regarding these incidents. Regarding the organizational dysfunction and increasing discord of Trinamool Congress, he described it as the beginning of the end of the party.
