Varanasi, 18 November (HS). Kashi MP Sports Competition (Kotwali Zone) was started on Monday at PN Singh Yadav Memorial Sports Ground of DAV PG College.
City South MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari as the chief guest and program chairman college minister/manager Ajit Kumar Singh Yadav jointly inaugurated the competition by lighting the lamp. Encouraging the players on this occasion, the MLA said that through sports, both body and mind remain healthy. To increase interest in sports among the students since childhood and understanding the importance of sports, Kashi MP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to start a sports competition in his parliamentary constituency. And this is the second phase of the competition, in which such a large number of participants are participating with enthusiasm. He said that with the efforts of the Prime Minister, India can host the Olympics very soon. The guests were welcomed by the Executive Principal of the college, Prof. Mishrilal did it. On the first day, various competitions were organized in the sports ground of DAV College, in which 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1500 m, 3000 m. The race was held. Apart from this, competitions of high jump, long jump and shot put were also organised. On the first day, competitions for under 11, 14 and 18 age groups were held. 400 m. In the under 11 boys category, Karan of Harishchandra stood first, Shubham of Composite School Kabirchaura stood second and Mohammad Noor of Harishchandra stood third in the race. In the girls category, Priyal Kumari of Manav Shikshan Sansthan stood first, Naina Gupta of Composite Peary and Sakshi Yadav of Vallabh Vidyapeeth stood third. More than 1500 students from 29 schools participated in the competition on the first day. In sports, Kanai Chandra Talapatra, Chandrabhan Yadav etc. were included in the jury.
