One more child dies, number of dead newborns reaches 12

Jhansi, 18 November (Hindustan Reporter). Another newborn has died in the fire that broke out in SNCU of Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College. Now the number of newborns killed in the fire has reached 12. However, the Medical College Principal has attributed the child’s death to some other disease.

A massive fire broke out in the Neonatal Intensive Care Center (SNCU) of Jhansi Maharani Laxmibai Medical College at around 10.30 pm on Friday night. 10 children died on the spot in the incident. Whereas, a child died on Sunday. Now another child has died on Monday. This child belongs to Muskaan, wife of Vishal, resident of Jalaun district. He was admitted to the medical center after suffering from a serious illness since birth. Let us tell you that at the time of the incident, 49 children were admitted in the ward, out of which 39 children were rescued and taken out.

Giving information about this matter, Medical College Principal Dr. NS Sengar said that the child of Muskaan, resident of Jalaun, died at 8.30 pm last night. His death was not due to burning but due to some other disease.
