According to the information, Iran’s Expert Assembly has selected the new Supreme Leader of the country on September 26. Khamenei himself secretly convened 60 members of the assembly to decide on a successor. The assembly unanimously approved Mojtaba’s name.

According to the information, the supreme leader in Iran is selected by the assembly of experts. To become supreme leader in Iran, a two-thirds majority is required. According to the Assembly of Experts, there are 86 Maulvis. Its elections are held every 8 years. But, after their election the Guardian Council plays a bigger role.
The Supreme Leader plays a major role in the election of the members of the Guardian Council. During his tenure over the past 35 years, Khamenei has filled the Guardian Council with his confidants.
