Ahmedabad, March 13 (HS). Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and state Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel were present at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the commercial fab of Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) at Dholera in Ahmedabad district, while state Industries Minister Balwant Singh Rajput was present at the foundation stone laying ceremony of CG Power's OSAT facility at Sanand. Was present at the foundation stone laying ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually performed the Bhoomi Pujan of 3 semiconductor facilities worth Rs 1.25 lakh crore at Sanand in Gujarat, Dholera in Gujarat and Moregaon in Assam in the 'India's Teched: Chips for Developed India' program.
On this occasion, Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that today is a historic day for India because today the Bhoomi Pujan of a total of 3 semiconductor plants is being performed in India. Of these, two plants are from Gujarat and one plant is from Assam. He said that the Central Government had approved setting up these 3 semiconductor plants in the country on 24 February 2024 and today the Bhoomi Pujan program of all three plants is being performed in a short period of 15 days. Ashwini Vaishnav said that efforts were going on for the semiconductor industry in India since 1962, but today the country is seeing this success due to the decision-making power and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi.
The Union Minister further said that in the coming days, the technology of Make in India, Make in Sanand and Make in Assam will be known all over the world through this semiconductor plant. Not only this, this is also the best example of how well a double engine government can do.
World's semiconductor companies willing to come to Gujarat
On the occasion of the inauguration of the Commercial Semiconductor Fab in Dholera, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, Indian industries are reaching new heights every day. Under the resolve of a self-reliant India, under the guidance of the Prime Minister, today things are becoming possible which once seemed impossible. Semiconductor manufacturing sector is also one such enterprise. He further said that the Prime Minister believes that the difference between problems and possibilities is vision and turning problems into possibilities is Modiji's guarantee. Semicon City, taking shape in Dholera, is the only destination in the country, where all the needs related to the semiconductor sector have been taken care of. This is why many semiconductor manufacturing companies of the world are eager to come here. Talking about the new plant that is going to be set up at Semicon City in Dholera, the Chief Minister said that the State Government has also set up Gujarat State Electronics Mission with the intention of making proper use of all the investment opportunities available in the semiconductor and electronics sector. Tata Group Chairman N. at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit to be held in January 2024. Chandrasekaran had announced setting up his semiconductor plant in Dholera, and in a short span of just two months, today the foundation stone of Tata's plants in Dholera and CG Power's plants in Sanand is being laid. He said that India will soon emerge as a global player in the semiconductor sector.

Chandrasekaran said that today is indeed a special day for the Tata Group, because today the foundation stone of the semiconductor manufacturing plant in Dholera has been laid. In the coming days, this plant will also provide a large number of employment opportunities. On this occasion, CG Power and Industrial Solution Limited Chairman Vellayan Subbaiah expressed happiness and said that today is a historic day. Investment worth Rs 91 thousand crore in Dholera
It is noteworthy that Tata Electronics Private Limited and Taiwanese company Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation will set up a plant in Dholera with a total investment of Rs 91 thousand crore. The plant will produce 50,000 semiconductor wafers per month. This type of semiconductor chip will be used in electric vehicles, telecommunications, defense, automotive and power management. Similarly, CG Power, along with Renesas Electronics Corporation-Japan and Stars Micro Electronics-Thailand JV, will set up a semiconductor ATMP plant in Sanand, Gujarat by investing Rs 7600 crore. Both these plants will create more than 25,000 direct and indirect employment in the coming days. A large number of electronics and IT experts and students from across the country watched the program virtually.
