On behalf of the Nepal Journalist Federation Morang branch across the border adjacent to Jogbani, a memorandum was submitted to the State Internal Affairs and Law Minister Shamsher Rai for the development and protection of local media, in which at the state level A demand was made to distribute public welfare advertisements.
Under the leadership of acting president of Nepal Journalist Federation Morang, Mohan Bhattarai, the delegation met State Internal Affairs and Law Minister Shamsher Rai and presented the demand letter.
The federation has formulated policies and laws for receiving information and advertisements of state and local governments through local media as per the rules of federalism, and a large part of the expenditure incurred by the government in the field of advertising is going into the hands of middlemen. Due to this, a demand was made to make arrangements for providing advertisements directly to the medium, to end the discriminatory treatment like the communication medium being national if it is published from Kathmandu and not being national if it is published outside Kathmandu. At the same time, there was a demand for the development of the entire communication sector at the state level. And assured to make necessary legal and policy arrangements for the management as soon as possible.
Acting President of the federation, Bhattarai said that the communication sector has been passing through a very troubled state for some time. In which a demand was made to cooperate with the government. Taking the demand letter of the Federation branch, Nepal Kosi Pradesh Government spokesperson cum Minister Rai said that the demands raised by the Journalists Federation will be included in the budget of the upcoming financial year.
