Dhamtari, March 13 (HS). The police has arrested an accused who planted 50 ganja plants in the courtyard of his house. The police seized the ganja plant from him and registered a crime and sent the accused to jail.
According to the information received from Arjuni Police, the police received information from the informer that a person from village Bodra had planted a tree of the drug Ganja in his house. On information, a team of police officers and employees reached village Bodra and raided the house of Ashwani Kumar Sahu. The police noticed that a plant resembling illegal drug ganja had been planted in the courtyard of his house.
After preparing Panchnama of the witnesses, on the spot, the plants of intoxicating substance Ganja were uprooted from the garden and a total of 50 pieces were seized. The weight of the plants was about 950 grams. Police have registered a crime against the accused Ashwani Kumar Sahu, 51 years of village Bodra, arrested him and sent him to jail. Sauni Uttam Nishad, Ramakrishna Sahu, constable Bhavesh Das, Pradeep Sahu and lady constable Jyoti Khute from Arjuni police station had special contribution in catching the accused.
