The enforcement team of the Transport Department today issued challan to BS-4 diesel buses of Haryana and Uttarakhand Government. Gopal Rai said that the BJP governments are increasing the pollution in Delhi and despite the ban, BS-4 diesel buses are being sent to Delhi by them. Gopal Rai alleged that BJP governments are deliberately sending diesel buses, which are banned, to increase pollution in Delhi.
Gopal Rai said that in reality, according to the CSE report, the pollution in Delhi is contributed by the sources of Delhi and the rest is contributed by the districts of NCR. The Delhi government is making strong efforts to control pollution in Delhi by making Summer Action Plan and Winter Action Plan, but the neighboring BJP government is increasing the pollution in Delhi. Despite the ban, BS-4 diesel buses are being sent to Delhi. He said that diesel buses from Uttar Pradesh are coming to Anand Vihar due to which pollution is increasing there. Diesel buses are coming to Delhi from Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
During a surprise inspection of the bus stand, Gopal Rai checked the buses coming from outside and found that some BS-4 buses were still entering Delhi.
He has instructed the Transport Department to run a special campaign for this. He said that 84 teams of transport department and 280 teams of traffic police have been deployed to enforce the ban. Gopal Rai said that to reduce vehicular pollution, a ban has been imposed on the running of BS III petrol and BS IV diesel LMVs (4 wheelers), as well as Delhi registered diesel medium vehicles of BS-3 standard or below. Goods vehicles (MGV) will not be able to ply in Delhi.
Diesel LCV medium goods carriers of BS-3 and below which are registered outside Delhi will not be allowed to enter Delhi. Vehicles related to essential goods and services are exempted from this. Only electric buses, CNG buses and BS-6 diesel buses coming from NCR interstate have been allowed to enter. If anyone violates this, a fine of Rs 20,000 will be imposed.
