New Delhi: PAN card is an important document. Be it investing in the stock market or opening a bank account. PAN card is asked everywhere. There are many places where PAN card is mandatory. In such a situation, it is very important for you to have this document along with your Aadhar card. If you do not have a PAN card, you can apply for a new PAN card in a few minutes.
There is a nominal fee for making a new PAN card and within a few days the PAN card is ready and reaches your address. Here we are going to tell you about the online and offline process of applying for PAN card.
How to apply online
There are certain steps to be followed to apply for PAN card. The PAN card is delivered to the address within about 15 days of application.
Step 1- Visit NSDL or UTIITSL portal.
Step 2- Click on New Pane option.
step 3- Select ‘PAN Card Form 49A’ in the application type.
step 4- Fill the details like name, last name, date of birth and mobile on the page.
Step 5- After submitting the form to start the processing you will have to pay the processing fee online or through demand draft.
Step 6- You will receive an acknowledgment slip after payment.
Step 7- Now you have to e-sign the application using Aadhaar OTP authentication. You can also send the application to NSDL PAN office/UTIITSL office (through courier) along with required documents.
Step 8- After completion of verification, PAN card number is issued. You can download the digital PAN card after just two hours, but it takes at least 15 days for the physical card to arrive.
offline application process
You can apply for PAN card offline through the district level PAN agency. For this, first of all download Form 49A from the website of NSDL or UTIITSL. You can also get this form from the agency agent. After this, fill the form and submit it to NSDL/UTIITSL office along with necessary documents. Some fee is charged for this. The new PAN card is delivered to the address within 15 days of completion of verification.
