Bhopal, 15 November (HS). Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said that the auspicious day of full moon of Kartik month has special significance for us. Receiving the blessings of Mother Narmada on this day is a great privilege and a sacred moment of life for all of us. He said that it is a matter of joy and pride for me to have the darshan of the devotees who are circling Maa Narmada and to have a close meeting with them.

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla on Friday had a cordial conversation with the devotees who were circumambulating Maa Narmada at Kabir Chabutra in Amarkantak in Anuppur district. He said that it is mentioned in Narmada Purana that the circumambulation of Maikal is like the circumambulation of the entire world. Every pebble on the banks of Mother Narmada is Shankar himself. This is an invaluable heritage of our Sanatan culture. Not only should we understand it, but it is our ultimate responsibility to preserve it and hand it over to the coming generations. Only through this is the welfare of mankind possible.

He said that Narmada Parikrama is a symbol of the deepest faith and lifestyle of our culture. This spiritual journey will definitely have a positive impact on the society. Referring to the Puranas, Deputy Chief Minister Shukla said that the same virtue that is achieved by taking a holy bath in Mother Ganga is achieved by merely having darshan of Mother Narmada. It is a privilege for me to come here, and meeting the Parikrama residents is the greatest pride of my life.

Deputy Chief Minister Shukla, remembering Lord Birsa Munda on the occasion of Lord Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary and Tribal Pride Day, said that through his invaluable efforts, he has made unprecedented contribution in protecting not only the country but also our Sanatan culture. His life and ideals inspire us. The Deputy Chief Minister performed the aarti of Mother Narmada at Kabir Chabutra. Former Vice Chairman of Vindhya Development Authority Ramdas Puri and a large number of devotees were present in the program along with saints and sages.
