New Delhi, 14 November (HS). Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju released a book titled ‘Waqf Bill 2024: Respect to Islam and Gift for Muslims’ at his residence on Krishna Menon Road. The book clearly shows the challenges of the Waqf system and advocates the reforms made in the Waqf Bill 2024.
The book praises the ‘Umeed Act’ (United Kingdom Act for Management Empowerment Efficiency and Development). Through this Act, efficient management of Waqf properties, digital record-keeping and the process of third party audit have been proposed. These changes have been made with the aim of bringing transparency in Waqf boards, maximum utilization of Waqf properties and benefiting the most vulnerable sections of the society.
The authors of the book include Dr. Shahid Akhtar, Dr. Shalini Ali, Shiraz Qureshi (lawyer) and Shahid Syed.
During the launch of this book, Kiren Rijiju termed it a milestone for Waqf reforms and said that this book not only takes important steps towards Waqf reforms but also inculcates the spirit of justice, equality and overall development in the society. Also promotes.
He praised the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and said that the Waqf properties will be used for education, health and social welfare, which is an important step towards empowering the Muslim community.
The book also emphasizes that Waqf is not just a religious trust but can serve as a national asset that can promote inclusive and equitable development. Rijiju also said that this book will increase awareness about Waqf and necessary steps will be taken to reform the Waqf system.
Kiren Rijiju, while appreciating the work of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, which inspired him to write the book, said that this platform is spreading awareness among the Muslim community, which is extremely necessary to promote unity and harmony in the society.
