In different cities of the world including India, people have difficulty in breathing due to air pollution. Three cities of India are included in the list of most polluted cities of 121 countries of the world. This includes the capital Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

The capital Delhi has got the first place in the live ranking given by Swiss company IQR on Wednesday. Looking at the live ranking of IQR, it shows that Delhi is the most polluted city in the world with 515 AQI. However, the weather patterns in India are now changing. Due to snowfall in the hilly areas, the temperature is falling in the plains also. Mumbai city is at 10th place in the ranking with 158 AQI. After this is Kolkata. AQI 136 was recorded in Kolkata. In the live ranking of IQR, Lahore city of Pakistan is at second place with 432 AQI. Karachi city is also included in this list. Karachi city is ranked 14th with 147 AQI. Generally the level of pollution is measured on the basis of air quality index. According to foreign standards, AQI level above 200 is considered very poor. Levels above 300 are considered seriously impaired. AQI level between 0-50 is considered good. AQI levels between 201 and 300 are considered hazardous and more than 301 are considered very hazardous.

Congo’s Kinshasa is at third place in the list.

Kinshasa city of Republic of Congo ranks third among the most polluted cities. 193 AQI has been recorded here. Egypt’s Cairo city is in fourth place with 184 AQI. Vietnam’s capital Hanoi is fifth in the ranking with an AQI level of 168. Qatar’s Doha city is at sixth place in the ranking, while Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh city is at seventh place. Kathmandu is at 8th place in the index, Ulaanbaatar of Mongolia is at 9th place. Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka is ranked 17th in the list with an IQ level of 122. Seven Chinese cities are also included in the list.
