New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Jaishankar’s deep understanding of the global geopolitical situation is world famous. When Sky News Australia’s Sherry Markson was on Australia tour, she told Australia during an interview that despite the Ukraine war, India is worried about India buying oil from Russia. In response, the Foreign Minister said, ‘I do not think we have given any reason for concern. In fact, in today’s era no country can remain isolated.
Giving the example of Pakistan, Jaishankar said that many countries have relations with Pakistan, so should we worry? Should we break ties with them? Imagine how worried Pakistan is about me?
Even after the Ukraine war, India buys oil from Russia. Giving clarification about this, Jaishankar said that it is necessary for India to buy cheap oil from there. Along with this, Western countries including Australia said about the complete boycott of Russia that problems cannot be solved by isolating any country. In fact, India’s good relations with both Russia and Ukraine can help India stop war and establish peace. India believes that no issue can be resolved on the battlefield. The matter can be resolved only on the negotiating table. India has good relations with both the countries, hence the countries of the world ask India to play the role of mediator in that dispute.
