Dhamtari, 13 November (HIST). Farmers were eagerly waiting for the day of 14th November to sell the paddy kept for a long time after harvesting and threshing of Kharif paddy crop at support price, which has arrived today. Paddy procurement at support price will begin after worshiping at 9 am in all the 100 centers of the district. 2533 farmers from across the district have been registered to sell paddy on the first day, who will be able to sell paddy. Preparations for paddy procurement have been completed with cleanliness in the centres.
After the indefinite strike of more than 550 cooperative employees working in 74 societies across the district ended, from the morning of 13th November, the officers and employees started preparing to purchase paddy at the support price in the centres. In many centers of the district including the procurement centers Achota, Loharsi, Potiyadih, Kasawahi, Kurra-Bagtarai, cleaning of Phad was done by the workers. Stages have been made to store paddy there. Apart from this, the cooperative employees kept preparing the paperwork for the purchase till late evening and night. Here, to sell paddy at the support price, the farmers of the area have made preparations to take the paddy to the center since morning by filling it in tractor-trolley and bullock cart. According to the information received from the District Nodal Officer office, a total of 1 lakh 27 thousand 596 farmers have been registered to sell paddy at support price this year. The target is to purchase 67 lakh 43120 quintals of paddy. 100 paddy procurement centers have been set up in the district. These include 26 paddy procurement centers in Dhamtari development block, 33 in Kurud, 18 in Magarlod and 23 in Nagari development block. Apart from this, four collection centers have been arranged in the district, these include Chittor, Bhathagaon (Kurud), Bhoyna and Janwargaon.
Procurement will continue till January 31, 2025
DMO Sunil Singh Rajput said that paddy will be purchased from registered farmers in the procurement centers from November 14 to January 31, 2025. Nodal officers have been made for 100 procurement centers to ensure proper quality, supervision, monitoring and purchase of paddy from genuine farmers at paddy procurement centres. At the same time, a monitoring committee has been formed at the committee level, through which paddy procurement will be conducted smoothly by being present in the committee. As per rules, this year paddy will be purchased at support price through electronic kata.
One lakh 7937 quintals will be purchased on the first day
Procurement of paddy at support price: A total of 2533 registered farmers have been issued tokens for selling paddy on the very first day on 14th November. A total of one lakh 7,937.60 quintals of paddy will be purchased from these farmers.
Monitoring will be done from five check posts
To stop illegal storage, transportation and recycling of procured paddy, a flying squad has been formed at the tehsil level, in which officers and employees of Revenue, Mandi, Food, Cooperative and Agriculture departments have been put on duty. They will be continuously monitored and a case will also be registered under the Mandi Act 1972. Borai (Ghutkel), Banspani, Banraud, Sankara and Singapore check posts of Odisha border area have been created in the district, in which city police, forest department, mandi, revenue department officers and employees have been put on duty.
