Visibility has also reduced due to reduced sunlight due to fog along with stubble smoke, due to which the lights of vehicles have started shining on the roads during the day. According to the Meteorological Department, the visibility on Tuesday was around 1200 meters and the effect of fog will continue for the next two days and then there is a possibility of cloud cover.
According to the data received so far, 646 in Amritsar, 121 in Barnala, 395 in Bathinda, 197 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 259 in Faridkot, 80 in Fazilka, 863 in Firozpur, 184 in Gurdaspur, 21 in Hoshiarpur, 94 in Jalandhar, 294 in Kapurthala. , 177 in Ludhiana, 462 in Mansa, 310 in Moga. 262 cases of stubble burning have been reported in Muktsar, 27 in SBS Nagar, 02 in Pathankot, 494 in Patiala, 10 in Rupnagar, 40 in SAS Nagar, 1381 in Sangrur, 660 in Tarn Taran and 133 in Malerkotla.
A fine of Rs 1 crore was imposed
Till now, a fine of more than Rs 1 crore has been imposed on 3278 farmers burning stubble. Out of which more than Rs 69 lakh has been recovered. Along with this, 3606 slips have been registered by Punjab Police and ‘red entry’ has been made by the Revenue Department in the records of 3288 farmers who burn stubble. During the last five days, more than 1800 cases of stubble burning have been reported in the state and till now the total number of cases has reached 7112. The highest number of cases of stubble burning have been reported at 730 places on Friday, 237 on Saturday, 345 on Sunday, 418 on Monday and 83 on Tuesday.

Air pollution in Punjab is also showing no signs of decreasing. On Tuesday, Mandi Gobindgarh had the highest AQI and Bathinda had the lowest. Mandi Gobindgarh recorded 254, Amritsar 228, Ludhiana 204, Patiala 202, Jalandhar 195, Rupnagar 194 and Bathinda recorded the lowest AQI of 194.
