After an embarrassing 3-0 defeat against New Zealand in the recent home Test series, the Indian team has reached Australia for the five-match Border Gavaskar Trophy. After reaching Perth, the Indian team had a secret training session at the WACA ground.
There is a road near the WACA Stadium where teams practice nets and usually passersby see the players practicing but that was not the case during the Indian team’s training session. The atmosphere in the ground became as if a lockdown had been imposed. This also happened during the 2022 T20 World Cup. Apart from this, the use of phones has also been banned for the people working in the stadium. The Indian team management is ensuring that Australia does not realize their preparations in any way.
The Indian team was to play an intra-squad practice match against the India A team before the Perth Test match, but this match has been cancelled. India-A team is also currently in Australia. It has been decided to cancel the practice match so that the players do not get injured in the match. In the first Test to be played from 22nd November, the Indian team will take the field without playing any practice match. Not a single pelvic match will be played at the WACA. This match will be played at Optus Stadium in Perth. India had played only one match on this ground in which it lost by 146 runs.
